Schnecken-Post

(For English please scroll down) Das heutige Foto des Tages wird Euch präsentiert von Geschöpfe der Natur: Die filigrane Schönheit einer Schnecke.

Wer von Euch jetzt spontan "igitt" sagt, der möge sich doch einfach bitte die interessante äußere Beschaffenheit so einer Schnecke ansehen. Man muss sie ja nicht anfassen. Einfach nur anschauen. Ist auf einem Foto auch völlig ungefährlich und frei von Schleimspuren.

Wir beide, die Schnecke und ich, begegneten uns heute Morgen. Ich auf meiner frühmorgendlichen Walking-Runde, sie wahrscheinlich auf der Suche nach frischem Grün für's Frühstück. Als ich mich vor sie hinhockte und ihr das Handy for die Nase (Fühler? Hörner?) hielt, drehte sie sich genervt (angewidert? verängstigt?) weg und richtete ihren Kopf/Oberkörper (drohend?) auf.

Ich bin sicher, sie war nicht begeistert, plötzlich eine Riesin vor sich zu haben, die sich ihr in den Weg stellt. Man kann nie wissen, was die wollen. Also vorsichtshalber eine Drohhaltung einnehmen und den Fluchtweg auskundschaften.

Ich hoffe, sie war beruhigt, als ich nach diesem Foto weiter meines Weges ging und sie in Ruhe ihr Frühstück beschaffen ließ.

Snail-Mail

For those of you exclaiming "ewww" all to quickly now: please have a look at the very interesting texture of such a snail. You do not have to touch them. Just look at it. It's only a photo and thus completely harmless and free from mucus traces.

The snail and I met today. Me on an early morning walk, she probably in search for some yummy breakfast greens. When I crouched down in front of her and shoved her my cell phone into her nose (horns? tentacles?) she turned away annoyed (disgusted? frightened?) And raised her head/upper body. Trying to get away? Threatening? I'm sure she was not thrilled to suddenly have a giant in her way. You can never know what these giants are up to. So better be safe than sorry and and look for the nearest escape route.

I hope she calmed down when I went further along my path after this photo and could continue to look for her breakfast in peace.
